Who is Hon. Jeremiah Umaru?

Hon. Jeremiah Umaru,  ACA, ACTI, serve as a Member of the House of Representatives for Akwanga/Nassarawa Eggon Federal Consistency. He was born on 23rd October in Kotangora, Niger state, Nigeria, to Mr and Mrs. Umaru Shammah of Sisinbaki, Wamba Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. Married to Mrs. Sarah Abisabo Umaru, they have three children.

His educational journey includes schooling at Army Children School, Kotangora, and Mustafa Comprehensive school, Kotangora, where he obtained his Senior school Certificate of Education (SSCE). He pursued higher eduction at Ahmadu Bello Unversity, Zaria, earning a BSc in Accounting. Later, he obtained an MBA in Finance and MPhil in Business Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, while becoming an Associate of Chartered Accountant (ACA-ICAN).

Also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria (ACTI). Hon. Umaru is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration at Nasarawa State Unversity, Keffi. He actively participates in professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and is working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the USA.

Throughout his career, Hon. Umaru has attended courses at both foreign and local institutions. He is deeply involved in humanitarian services, contributing to infrastructure projects, education support, scholarships, and job facilitation.

His remarkable contributions have earned him numerous awards and recognitions. Additionally, he holds several traditional titles in recognition of his service to the community.

Hon. Umaru has worked with various organizations, including the British Council of Nigeria, the National Examination Council (NECO), and the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys hobbies such as reading, writing, travelling, and engaging in sports like table tennis. His philosophy revolves around seeking God first, serving humanity, and maintaining a positive outlook in all situations.

Hon. Umaru’s dedication to his efforts to promote sustainable development and social welfare initiatives. He is actively involved in community empowerment programs, advocating for improved healthcare, education, and infrastructure. His commitment to fostering unity and progress within his constituency has garnered widespread admiration and support from constituents and colleagues alike.
